BC.Game Provably Fair Explained: How to Verify Results

“Provably fair” lets you check, mathematically, that a game result wasn’t changed after you placed your bet. BC.Game uses it for its BC Originals, such as Dice, Limbo, Mines, Plinko and Crash. You don’t have to take the casino’s word for it. You can verify results yourself. This guide explains the key parts in plain language.

Single-player games: the three ingredients

Server seed

A secret random string generated by BC.Game. Before you bet, you only see its hash, a fingerprint made with SHA-256. The hash commits BC.Game to that seed without revealing it. The real seed is revealed when you change (rotate) seeds.

Client seed

A string on your side. It’s generated automatically, but you can change it to anything. Because you control it, the casino can’t pre-calculate your results.

Nonce

A counter that increases by one with every bet on the current seed pair, so each bet produces a different result.

Putting them together

The server seed, client seed and nonce are combined using a cryptographic function, typically HMAC-SHA256. The output is converted into the game result: a roll, a multiplier, mine positions and so on. Because the server seed was committed in advance and the client seed is yours, neither side can change the outcome after you bet.

Multiplayer games: hash chains

Shared games like Crash can’t use your personal client seed, because everyone sees the same result. Instead, they typically use a pre-generated chain of hashes. Each round’s result comes from the next hash in the chain, often combined with a public value (a “salt”) that was fixed in advance. Since the whole chain was created before the rounds were played, results can’t be altered round by round. You can verify a round’s hash and result after it finishes using the game’s fairness or verification tool.

How to view and change your seeds

  1. Open a BC Original game.
  2. Find the Fairness option, usually a shield icon or a “Fairness” link near the game controls.
  3. You’ll see your client seed, the hashed server seed and the nonce.
  4. Enter a new client seed and click change or rotate.

Rotating reveals the previous server seed in plain text, so you can verify all bets made with it.

How to verify a past bet

  1. Rotate your seeds to reveal the old server seed.
  2. Check the hash: run the revealed seed through any SHA-256 tool. It must match the hash you were shown before betting.
  3. Get the bet details: open the bet in your history for the client seed and nonce.
  4. Use a verifier: BC.Game’s built-in verification tool or an independent open-source verifier.
  5. Compare the calculated result with your recorded result. They should match.

What provably fair does and doesn’t mean

  • ✔ Results can’t be changed after you bet.
  • ✔ You can check past results independently.
  • ✘ It does not remove the house edge.
  • ✘ It does not make results predictable.
  • ✘ It doesn’t apply to third-party slots and live games.

“Seed hacks” and predictors are scams. SHA-256 can’t be reversed to reveal an unrevealed server seed or future hash. Anyone selling a predictor is after your money or your account.

Frequently asked questions

Should I change my client seed often?

You can. It doesn’t improve your odds, but rotating more often lets you verify bets sooner.

Does changing my seed change my luck?

No. It just gives you a different random sequence.

Can I verify Crash rounds?

Yes. Use the round’s hash and the game’s verification tool after the round ends.
